SENIOR COMPREHENSIVE/LAND USE PLANNER
Regional
planning agency for Chicago metropolitan area is seeking a senior level
planning position in the Planning Services Department. Work includes
supervisory and professional assignments at the highest policy level in a
team-based environment in pursuit of comprehensive planning approaches to
complex metropolitan issues. Extensive contact with elected and appointed
officials, civic and advocacy groups, and general public. Work includes
regional visioning, land use, growth management, and comprehensive general
planning. Duties entail scope of work design, project budgeting and
management, analysis, report writing, and presentations to technical and
public audiences.
Skills for this
position include: knowledge of a wide range of planning disciplines,
including land use, growth management, transportation, regional economic
development, and sustainable development strategies. Knowledge and use of
visioning processes, visualization techniques, urban design skills, and
GIS-based scenario modeling desirable. The position requires a master’s
degree or equivalent in planning or related field and five to ten years of
progressively responsible experience. Especially desirable for this
position are experience in land use and/or comprehensive planning at the
municipal or county levels and/or growth management experience at regional
or state levels.
Salary range of
$55,509-$67,632. Good benefits. Near downtown train stations. Resumes
