The Southern Lake Michigan Regional Water Supply Consortium mission is to promote a comprehensive, regional approach to sustainable water supply planning and management in the greater Chicago metropolitan region, including southeastern Wisconsin and northwestern Indiana. Our mission will address the southern Lake Michigan region’s water supply issues by pursuing the following goals:

Mission

The Southern Lake Michigan Regional Water Supply Consortium pulls together a broad spectrum of interests and expertise to work toward consensus on regional water supply planning. Our membership represents federal, state, and local agencies, private firms, non-profit advocacy groups, and universities. The Consortium was founded in the spirit of the Wingspread Accord, an agreement struck in spring 2002 between the regional planning commissions in southeastern Wisconsin, northeastern Illinois, and northwestern Indiana to cooperate closely in matters of regional interdependence. Our work is made possible through the generous support of Joyce Foundation and Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant.
