Protection Status:
- Private Illinois Natural Area. Landowner contact has been made.
Management Problems:
- Site is threatened by siltation from adjacent agricultural lands and has an overgrowth of cattails
- Phragmites is expanding
- Site was severely disturbed in 1998 by pipeline project when directional drilling was used to bypass the fen. Drilling material oozed into the fen and spring run, coating vegetation and aquatic animals
- The Illinois Nature Preserves Commission is working towards securing the natural features
- Water cress invasion in spring runs
