Don't forget! Join us on September 28 to celebrate the 2040 Regional Framework Plan and launch its implementation phase
Celebrate the 2040 REGIONAL FRAMEWORK PLAN and launch its implementation phase on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at 10:15 a.m. on the 99th floor of the Sears Tower. The plan is based on an intensive public-involvement process led by the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission (NIPC), which yielded a vision of the region's future by the year 2040:
Northeastern Illinois will be a region of livable communities, built on the diversity of its people, known for its healthy natural environment, global competitiveness, and governed collaboratively.
See the agenda for this event, which will include an introduction to a new multimedia CD, "Realizing the Vision," that will be used in coming months by NIPC and its partners to build support for the 2040 Plan across the region. In keeping with the framework plan's purpose of conveying a positive legacy to residents of the future, we will create a time capsule with special artifacts to commemorate the occasion, including photographs and signatures of the attendees.
BE PART OF THIS EXCITING EVENT! Be sure to

About the Northeastern Illinois Planning
Commission
The Northeastern Illinois
Planning Commission (NIPC) was created in 1957 by the Illinois General
Assembly as the region's comprehensive land-use planning agency. The
legislation authorizes NIPC to conduct research for planning -- including
official forecasts of population, employment, and other socio-economic
indicators -- to advise units of local government on their plans and
policies, and to provide general comprehensive plans and policies for use by
local governments. For more, see
