NIPC's Census 2000
population profiles summarize the population by race, Hispanic
origin, and voting age for every county, political township (MCD), and
municipality in Northeastern Illinois.
Profiles are also available for each Chicago community area and city of
Chicago ward as well as all Illinois state legislative districts.
Because
Census 2000 respondents could for the first time mark more than one race, the
profiles also display the incidence of multi-racial combinations, with a particular emphasis on displaying the number of bi-racial
responses.
The
PL 94-171 file population profiles
are available in two common digital formats--as either a Microsoft Excel
workbook or as an Adobe Acrobat Portable Document File (PDF) reproduction of
the same spreadsheet.
(Important
note added on 6/20/01: If your Profile PDF file prints out large
black pools of ink instead of user notes and tables, please go to
http://censtats.census.gov/techdoc/pdfprint.htm
for some very easy-to-follow instructions on a "fix.")
